What Goes Wrong With Commercial Door Hardware?
Hardware problems usually come from hardware being added one door at a time. A tenant asks for a new lock, someone grabs whatever is in stock, and five years later a corridor has four lock brands, three finishes and nobody knows which key opens what. Electric strikes get installed in frames that were never prepped for them. Mag-locks go in without fire alarm release. Each one is a small problem until an inspection or a lockout makes it a big one. Our commercial door hardware compatibility matrix shows which exit devices, closers and strikes fit which doors and frames.
What Is Included in Commercial Door Hardware Installation?

- Mixed brands and finishes across a suite or floor
- Locks that stick, fail or cannot be keyed to the master system
- A tenant fit-out or office refresh
- Adding access control or intercom release
- Accessibility upgrades to lever trim
Hardware Only vs Access Control
If doors just need locks, pulls and strikes, this service covers it. If you need readers, keypads and credentials, see commercial access control installation, which includes the full door side.
Codes and Standards
Hardware meets ANSI/BHMA Grade 1, electrified locks on egress doors include required release, rated doors get listed hardware only, and lever trim supports AODA accessibility.
