The Challenge
A distribution operator in Concord had mismatched man-doors across two warehouses, some chained shut after failed latches. Operations wanted one standard door and exit device across both sites and a single invoice for the capital file.
Scope
- Hollow metal doors, galvanized, insulated cores
- Von Duprin rim exit devices, matched trim
- Frame check and reuse where square, new frames where not
- Written warranty per leaf, one invoice across both sites
Our Approach
We built one hardware standard for both buildings: galvanized hollow metal leaves with insulated cores and the same rim exit device on every exit. The CAD spec grouped openings by site and by frame condition so the PM could see which frames were reused.
Crews worked around dock schedules and finished every opening on the day it was opened, so neither building was left unsecured overnight.
Outcome
Both warehouses now run on the same door and exit device standard. The ops lead summed it up as multi-door rollout, 2 sites, 1 invoice, written warranty every leaf.
"Multi-door rollout, 2 sites, 1 invoice, written warranty every leaf."
